     Our age grew up with technology, as soon as most of us started elementary school the internet was in our lives. But to be honest, I didn't even know the definition of the internet until I just looked it up. "The internet is a vast network that connects computers all over the world." From Britannica. For almost any person my age, the internet was information we all quickly picked up. I don't even remember being taught how to access the internet. It came naturally almost as instinct. As a result of that technology has taken over the world. Anything from bathrooms to driving, requires technology. 

    Who created the internet? Two computer scientists one named Bob Kahn and another named Vinton Cerf. On January first, 1983, The internet was born. But, originally the internet was started in the late 1960's in California, USA. The internet was first used as a weapon during the cold war. Scientists would use it to communicate and share data. Now, the internet is used for everything. The internet is most used for work or school. But it is also used for leisure, this includes, Social Media, connecting with family or friends, and gaming. Most of the time we take the internet for granted. 

    The World Wide Web is an interconnected system of public webpages accessible through the internet. I was not aware that these are two different systems. The two scientists that created the world wide web are Tim Berners Lee and Robert Cailliau. The world wide web was created in 1989. It is said that the web was originally developed to meet the demand for automated information sharing between scientists in universities and institutes over the world. Now the Web is mainly used for texting or instant messaging. It is also used for emailing and watching videos online. 

    I would say the Internet and The Web are the same but different in both ways. Using both online systems as a way of communicating all over the world. But the internet is needed to be able to connect to the online world and the web is the way of being able to communicate. So the internet is a server that all devices need to connect to, to be able to connect through the web.

    The first website created was by Tim Berners-Lee. It was a dedicated to information on the World Wide Web. The website went live on August 6, 1991. The website is still around today and is running. The URL is http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html.    I think this is awesome because it was the first website and to see how advanced web sites are today is so different from the first one. It took so much time and skill to even come up with the idea of the Internet and the WWW. 

    Heddy Lamarr came up with the idea of  Wifi and Bluetooth. She made wifi because when she was informed about  the Navy's difficulties with radio-controlled torpedoes.  The engineers Sven Mattison and Jim Kardach came up with the name for bluetooth while having a beer. The logo comes from Nordic H and Nordic B combined to make the bluetooth symbol.  Heddy Lamarr created wifi. Wifi was called 802.11 before getting the name Wifi. Wifi actually does not stand for anything. Wifi is a registered trade mark of the Wifi alliance. It has been said that the reason Wifi was re named to be catchier and easier to say then " IEEE 802.11b Direct Sequence".
